The experimental quintet, released their debut album, 'On How the
Illustrious Captain Moon Won the War for Us' on Snowstorm Records
to rapturous reviews. Formed in 2000 in northern Scotland, Hookers Green
No.1 met through an admiration of a variety of music and a love of the
desperate nature of the surrounding countryside. Taking their name from an
old abandoned warehouse in their hometown, the band went on to practice and
conceive the ideas that would later form the mould of their debut. Although
the band's short history has been troubled by various members leaving,
perseverance and patience has made this hurdle one of the many inspirations
behind their united yet disparate sound. Reveling in their collective
imagination, Hookers Green are the sound of the explosion of genres, the
boundaries of which have been held for too long on illusionary
grounds.
